Current status at many wakeparks

The anchoring of water sports obstacles has so far been very complex.
Most of the time, the wakepark buys a plastic container, places an anchor iron in the center of the container, and fills the container with concrete. The concrete needs to harden and dry. After drying, a heavy concrete block stands on land and has to be lifted into a boat or onto a floating pontoon with manpower. With the respective water vehicle, the anchor is moved into the desired position and thrown into the water. When sinking to the bottom of the water, the anchor slides arbitrarily in any direction. Most of the time, the anchor has to be lifted again from the bottom of the water in order to position it perfectly. Bad only if the anchor is 200 kg or more. Up to now, water anchors for WakePark features have been an ordeal for cableways employees and are very cumbersome to handle and manufacture.

How many anchors per obstacle do you recommend?

That depends on the respective obstacles and of course the local conditions. At this point, the size of the water, the length of the wind stroke and the prevailing wind and wave loads should be mentioned.

Below are a few examples from a classic body of water.

  • For a L icker we recommend 4 anchors.
  • For a pipe or a slider of 16 meters we recommend 6 anchors.
  • For a funbox of 18 meters, we recommend 8 anchors.
How heavy is an anchor?

Our anchor nets have a dead weight of approx. 50 kg when filled. Depending on the stone size and shape.
